My mission is to empower students to reach their goals through the pursuit of musical excellence. Whether they are starting violin for the first time, honing their abilities, or preparing for a career in music, I work with each student to develop the skills needed for success.
Lessons emphasize fundamental technique, incorporating scales, exercises, and etudes to develop precision and control. By exploring a diverse musical repertoire—from Suzuki books and popular melodies to masterful violin concerti—students enhance their musicality and establish effective daily practice routines.
I believe excellence empowers. Through violin lessons with me, l invite students to pursue excellence in violin-playing and see how it transforms their lives.
Beginner

Great for young children just starting their journey with the violin, particularly 6-8 year-olds or students with less than a year of experience. Lessons consist of posture exercises, one and two-octave scales, music theory and note reading (Essential Elements book 1), and repertoire (Suzuki books 1 - 2).
Practice expectations: 10 - 30 minutes per day

Intermediate

Great for the progressing violinist looking to take their skills farther, particularly 9 - 14 year olds or those who have been playing for a year or more. Lessons consist of scales and exercises (Hrimaly scales and shifting/vibrato exercises), etudes (Wohlfart bow exercises), and repertoire (Suzuki books 3 and 4).
Practice expectations: 30 to 45 minutes daily.

Advanced

Hour length lessons are best for serious high school students or adults who are committed to their progress and may be considering studying music in college. Lessons consist of scales (Flesch scale system), etudes and exercises (Kreutzer etudes, Sevcik and Fischer exercises, etc.) and repertoire (concertos and solo Bach, other solos and ensemble music as needed). I place a strong emphasis on intentional practice strategies, excellent technique, and musicality.
Practice expectations: 1 hour or more
